Targeted this summer by Paris Saint-Germain, the very promising Laciné Megnan-Pavé (16 years old) has extended his contract with Montpellier.

His name is on the shelves of most European recruiters. While his future had caused a lot of talk this summer, with the interest mentioned from Paris Saint-Germain, the nugget Laciné Megnan-Pavé sealed his future with Montpellier.

The MHSC thus announces this Thursday the contract extension of its very young attacker, born March 7, 2010, and therefore aged 16. The native of Montpellier had already become the youngest player to sign his first professional contract, last February, at just 15 years old.

While Montpellier quickly put an end to speculation regarding a possible transfer this summer, Laciné Megnan-Pavé started the season like a dream, scoring on his debut in Ligue 2 against Dijon (1-1), becoming both the youngest player and the youngest scorer in the history of La Paillade.

Less in sight for a month, the young striker found the net again by scoring on Monday during the victory in Rodez (0-3). And so here he is, extending until 2029, with the club where he has been playing since the age of six.

“ This extension once again shows the club’s interest in me and that makes me happy! When the leaders told me about it, I didn’t hesitate and immediately said yes, tells the player on the MHSC website. Seeing all this confidence placed in me here, it weighed in my choice to continue at MHSC… And when you know my young age, it’s even more rewarding. So, extending was not only an option for me, it was obvious (smile). »

“When I returned to the Stade de La Mosson for the first time, against Dijon, it was my dream, adds the club kid. Seeing the supporters applaud at the end of the match and calling for us was something powerful. We have a great group, with very strong cohesion, a young group and, when we slip up, we are corrected by the older players, which is normal. I hope we go as far as possible. »
