The possible return of Lionel Messi to Barça continues to fuel debate among supporters. According to a survey carried out by TV3 during the club’s election day, only a minority – 6% of supporters surveyed – do not want to see the Argentine legend associated with the future of Barça. The question of Messi’s return was one of the central themes of the campaign, with each candidate offering their vision on how to reconnect with the former number 10.
In detail, supporters largely favor a symbolic tribute rather than a return to the field. A majority (55.5%) is in favor of organizing a tribute match, while 28% want to see him be named honorary president. Only 10% of respondents would like Messi to return as a player, proof that the attachment remains immense, but that the idea of a sporting return has little appeal.
