Lille still can’t do it

Lille has still not won in Ligue 1 in 2026. Losc played its 6th match since the start of the year in the league, but again did not take 3 points, conceding a draw at home against Brest (1-1). Bruno Génésio’s men could have even suffered a worse fate if Gaëtan Perrin, their winter recruit, had not equalized 20 minutes from the end, five minutes after coming into play.

For his first appearance as a Dogues player at Stade Pierre-Mauroy, the former Auxerrois avoided disaster with a dry, uncontrolled strike at ground level on a cross from Correia (1-1, 71st). If the Northerners, 5th in Ligue 1 six lengths behind OM after this sharing of points, had to struggle, it is because Brest struck first.

The Bretons indeed opened the scoring shortly before the hour mark. After a high recovery, Rémy Labeau-Lascary struck without control at the entrance to the area to superbly deceive Ozer (0-1, 58th). Twelfth, seven points behind their evening hosts, Eric Roy’s men missed the opportunity to get closer to the top 5 and risk spending the second part of the season in the soft underbelly of the elite.

Thursday, Losc will try to find color on the European scene. The Mastiffs will host Red Star Belgrade, their opponent in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
