Affected in the left calf since December 13, Paul Pogba continues his difficult season with AS Monaco. More than two and a half months later, the French midfielder has clearly still not recovered sufficiently and his club has decided to do without his services for the rest of the Champions League.

The sidelining was announced this Wednesday by L’Équipe. “La Pioche” will therefore not see his name included on the list that ASM will send to UEFA. The general director of the Principality club, Thiago Scuro, clarified that same day that Paul Pogba was continuing his rehabilitation, but that it was currently impossible to say when he would be back and operational.

It is therefore without the 2018 world champion that Monaco will face Paris Saint-Germain on February 17 and 25, in the play-offs for the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Paul Pogba, the struggles continue

Two other players will also not be in the game due to injury: Takumi Minamino and Mohammed Salisu. Both men suffered torn cruciate ligaments in their knees. Recruited this winter, and despite an injury, Wout Faes was indeed included in this famous list for the C1. Same thing for another winter recruit, this time in the offensive sector, Simon Adingra.

For Paul Pogba, the problems keep coming and lasting. His dream of participating in the next World Cup now seems completely illusory. It remains to be seen whether he will be able to play again with his club by the end of the season.
