2026 World Cup, here is the worst draw for the Blues

FIFA officially revealed this Tuesday the composition of the four hats for the 2026 World Cup (June 11-July 19). Before the draw scheduled for December 5, the governing body of world football also revealed certain specific procedural points. The Blues will, for example, benefit from a status which will prevent them from facing Argentina, England or Spain before the final four, provided that everyone finishes at the top of their group.

Another particularity confirmed by FIFA: there cannot be two countries from the same continent in a group, with the exception of Europe. Enough to limit as much as possible the chances of having a group of death as far as the Blues are concerned. So, for those who hoped (or feared) that France could find itself in a group with Morocco, Norway and Italy, they may be disappointed (or reassured).

However, a complicated draw could still be reserved for Didier Deschamps’ men. They could thus face Morocco (hat 2), Paraguay (hat 3) and Italy if it passes the play-offs (hat 4). At a slightly lower level of difficulty, other more or less similar scenarios are then possible.

Different possibilities for the Blues

France could, for example, find itself facing Croatia, Algeria and Bolivia. A third possibility would put the Blues against Morocco, Norway and Cape Verde. The important thing for Kylian Mbappé and his teammates will in any case be to finish at the top of their group to ensure a more affordable continuation of the competition.

We now have to wait until December 5 to find out most of the French team’s opponents. The meeting schedule will not, however, be communicated at the same time. You will simply have to wait until the next day, Saturday December 6.
