Mixed performances, culpable errors, a controversial like on Instagram and a shower of criticism… Arriving at PSG last summer for a check for 40 million euros, Lucas Chevalier was certainly hoping for a completely different start to his adventure in the City of Lights. “They scrutinize me from A to Z. And now, we also realize that it’s merciless!”admitted the person concerned during an interview given to Téléfoot. So, this Saturday evening, on the occasion of the 13th day of Ligue 1, the former LOSC goalkeeper was logically expected at the turn.

Once again established in goal, the French international finally achieved his first benchmark match in his new colors. Faced with valiant and very well organized Le Havre, number 30 of the Rouge et Bleu never failed. Asked, for the first time, by Yassine Kechta, the native of Calais serenely captured (14th) before pulling out the (very) big game. What can we say, in fact, of this fingertip parade on a cover by Simon Ebonog (25th). A decisive stop which will certainly remain among the most beautiful of this 2025-2026 financial year and which, above all, will have had the merit of waking up Parisians.

Knight did everything well

Released after Kang-In Lee’s opening score (29th), Luis Enrique’s men still thanked the 1m89 right-hander. On a big night, Chevalier left nothing to chance. Vigilant on his line, he was still watching over a new attempt from Kechta (39th). Clean in his restarts (100% success with the hand, 86% of successful passes), he continued his business after returning from the locker room. Less worried by the Ciel et Marine, he was however decisive on the powerful free kick from Yanis Zouaoui (62nd) before thanking his posts on the new wick of Soumaré (70th).

Relieved after this successful performance, the 24-year-old goalkeeper, elected man of the match by the FM editorial team, did not shy away from his pleasure at the Ligue 1+ microphone: “These are difficult matches after the break, they put us in difficulty, it’s a good team and we won 3-0, it’s good to score goals to make the difference and for confidence it’s positive not to concede a goal. It’s a big club, we try to keep clean sheets, that gives confidence to me and the defense. But the most important thing is to win matches and we want to do it every three days.. A full match also greeted by his coach at the final whistle.

“We know the difficulty of arriving at PSG for all the players and we are very happy with the players we have signed. Lucas Chevalier was sensational today”added the Spanish technician before continuing in a press conference: “It depends on each match. Normally to value the performance of a player, you should not watch a single match but I have no doubt about Lucas Chevalier, neither for Zabarnyi, nor for Renato, we know the difficulty of playing at PSG and the noise around the team, you have to get used to this noise but I have a lot of confidence.. Before that, Didier Digard, coach of Hacmens, did not fail to highlight the very good performance of the neo-Parisian. “Despite our lack of offensive success this evening, he (Chevalier, editor’s note) must not take anything away from him but we must focus on ourselves. He gave a great performance and we will work to correct that, these small details and score in the next matches.. This Saturday evening, Lucas Chevalier, perhaps, really launched his adventure at PSG.
