Naples and its president Aurelio De Laurentiis once again find themselves under fire from Italian justice. The club, its emblematic leader and general manager Andrea Chiavelli have been indicted and will be judged on September 2, 2026 for allegedly fraudulent transfers concerning Kostas Manolas, recruited from AS Roma in 2019, and Victor Osimhen, who arrived from Lille in the summer of 2020. According to the prosecution, these operations would have involved exchanges of players and artificial overvaluations to generate fictitious capital gains, an accusation firmly rejected by De Laurentiis and his lawyers, who emphasize that the club did not benefit from these transactions according to the Gazzetta dello Sport.
In an official statement, Naples expressed its astonishment and confidence in the face of this indictment. “All the technical expertise has unequivocally demonstrated the regularity of our actions, both in terms of accounting and player transfers”assures the club.
