Rennes confirms in Paris

Things seem to be going better and better for Stade Rennais. After spending almost two months without winning, Habib Beye’s men returned to success a few days ago against Strasbourg (4-1) and have just confirmed their revival this Friday by winning on the pitch of Paris FC (0-1, 12th day of Ligue 1). Even if it will be necessary to iron out the method.

It took just one goal scored by Breel Embolo in the last ten minutes of the match to make the visitors happy. For a long, long time, the score did not change despite two Parisian posts and a domination in favor of the locals.

Paris only scored four times (out of nineteen shots) and Rennes three times (out of ten attempts). But there was still a spectacle at Jean-Bouin. The fault perhaps in the numerous spaces left by the midfielders, and sometimes the defenses. In front of the Breton cage, Brice Samba stood out.

Embolo marks, the PFC relapses

And so it was in the 81st minute of play that Embolo, who entered a quarter of an hour earlier, found the fault. Launched in depth, he resisted his direct defender to cross a perfectly measured small ball. This success allows Stade Rennais to very temporarily move up to eighth place, two points behind Europe and Olympique Lyonnais.

For Paris FC, it is a relapse after the victory ball of the last day on the Monaco pitch (0-1). If Lorient were to win on Sunday against Toulouse, the Parisians would only be two points ahead of the play-off place.
