Things are a little better at Old Trafford. After a complicated start to the season, notably marked by rumors of the early ousting of Ruben Amorim, the Red Devils are starting to string together positive results. The Mancunians have thus managed to climb to fourth place in the Premier League standings thanks to their three wins in a row, and seem to have left the demons of the start of the season in the past.
The summer recruits are starting to justify their sometimes amazing transfer, like Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, both scorers yesterday. Enough to look towards the rest of the season with optimism. But in January, the decision-makers at the Mancunian team want to continue to strengthen the squad and they have ticked off quite a name on their list.
The little brother
Manchester United are reportedly considering a surprise transfer for Jobe Bellingham during the January transfer window, in order to strengthen their midfield, reports the Daily Express. The young Englishman, brother of England and Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham, has struggled to adapt since joining Borussia Dortmund from Sunderland. Recruited for more than €30 million this summer, he is yet to score in 11 appearances and has only started two Bundesliga matches. His situation is also complicated by growing tensions between his father, Mark Bellingham, and the German club's sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, following a disagreement over the player's time in the league.
Issues which have fueled rumors about his future, with Manchester United monitoring the situation closely and could consider a loan move for the 20-year-old midfielder in January. It is not yet certain whether Jobe Bellingham agrees to leave Dortmund or prefers to persevere in the hope of establishing himself in the club where his brother shone. At the same time, Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim is also considering a loan for Conor Gallagher, English midfielder from Atletico Madrid, in order to strengthen his options in the middle.
