PSG crushes Leverkusen 2-7 in the Champions League with a double from Désiré Doué and the winning return of Ousmane Dembélé after his injury.

Marseille had a feast last Saturday against Le Havre, winning six goals to two. PSG responded this Tuesday evening at the BayArena by doing slightly better. 7-2! And seven goals scored away from home, in the Champions League, against a team at the top of the Bundesliga table. A monumental success which allows the Parisians to sign a third consecutive victory in this 2025-2026 European campaign and above all to equal their best historic series in the European Cup with six successes in a row, on a par with the epic of the gang to Luis Fernandez in 1994-1995. Despite an hour of play ten against ten in an incredible scenario, Paris showed its offensive quality with a sparkling Désiré Doué author of a double, the resounding return of Ousmane Dembélé to score three minutes after his entry, and Vitinha who completed the festival with a splendid strike in added time.

A great start then refereeing chaos

Paris took control in the 7th minute. On a perfectly worked corner between Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi, Willian Pacho appeared at the near post to deceive Flekken with an unstoppable header. But the scenario would turn into an administrative nightmare. In the 23rd minute, Ilya Zabarnyi committed a handball in the Parisian area, giving Leverkusen a penalty. Alejandro Grimaldo struck powerfully but found the post, Lucas Chevalier had chosen the right side. Simple warning. Ten minutes later, Robert Andrich elbowed Désiré Doué. After consulting the VAR, the German captain received a logical red card, leaving his team at ten for almost an hour. But the respite was short-lived: another penalty for Leverkusen after another hand from Zabarnyi, this time transformed by Aleix Garcia (39th). In the process, the Ukrainian caught Kofané in the area and in turn received a red card. Ten to ten, everything had to be done again.

Doué and Dembélé defeat Bayer.

Seven minutes of pure madness

Between the 42nd and 50th minutes, Paris delivered a devastating offensive recital. Désiré Doué first restored the advantage with a low shot (42nd). Two minutes later, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took advantage of a defensive error to score the third Parisian goal with the help of the post (44th). Then Doué offered himself a second gem with a sumptuous curl following a lightning counter-attack led by Hakimi (45+2). The break changed nothing: in the 50th minute, Nuno Mendes added a fifth goal after a caviar from Vitinha and another blunder from Flekken. Four goals in seven minutes of effective play, unprecedented for Paris in the Champions League. Leverkusen tried to react with a magnificent long-range goal from Garcia which cleared Chevalier's top corner (54th), but it was too little, too late.

Dembélé and Vitinha complete the festival

In the 63rd minute, Luis Enrique gave Ousmane Dembélé his hundredth appearance in the Parisian jersey after a month and a half of absence due to injury. The 2025 Ballon d'Or only needed three minutes to put his name on the scoreboard. Launched by Bradley Barcola on the edge of offside, he concluded with a clinical strike after another risky exit from Flekken (66th). The Dutch goalkeeper went through an ordeal, conceding seven goals, several of which were due to individual errors. Paris then quietly controlled the end of the match before Vitinha offered the final bouquet with a superb mid-right strike from twenty meters in added time (90th). A jewel to conclude a gala evening.

The European champion sends a message

This demonstration of strength away from home, which follows Barcelona's victory, confirms Parisian ambitions to retain their European crown. The gradual return of injured executives completely changes the appearance of the team and offers Luis Enrique formidable squad depth. This monumental victory on German soil sends a clear warning to title contenders: Paris does not intend to give up its trophy anytime soon. If the European champion manages to maintain this dynamic and this newfound health, the quest for the continental double takes on the appearance of a perfectly achievable project. The BayArena will long remember this nightmarish evening where PSG reminded us that it remained the boss in Europe.
