His Youth League campaign with PSG last season left no observer indifferent, especially not Manchester City who did everything to attract him this summer. At 18, Mahamadou Sangaré took the gamble of joining England only two years after his arrival at PSG. Recruited from Montrouge in the summer of 2023 after finishing top scorer in U17 Nationals, the native of Bamako will not have needed long before repeating his exploits. While the thorny question of number 9 crystallized the debates in Paris, he piled up the goals in the Youth League.

He also finished as co-top scorer of the tournament with eight goals (tied with the Ukrainian from Dynamo kyiv Matviy Ponomarenko and the Austrian from Leipzig Phillip Verhounig), attracting the attention of many clubs even though he had still not signed professionally with PSG. After his hat-trick against Atlético de Madrid in November, the Spanish daily A.S. wrote: “the match was decided in the first half (4-0), during which Sangaré and Mbaye were unstoppable, and brutally punished the Atlético defenders.” The first has since attracted the services of Mohamed Sissoko, a former Liverpool and PSG player who is now director of the company LSM Leading Management.

He has just scored a hat-trick against Monaco

If there has long been talk of a first professional contract in Paris, it is under the colors of the Skyblues that the Franco-Malian striker is currently enjoying himself. Since the start of the season, Sangaré has accumulated 7 goals and 2 assists in 8 matches in all competitions, including 3 in 2 Youth League matches. It was Monaco who paid the price since the left-hander scored a hat-trick and an assist against the Monegasques.

David Suarez, U19 coach and PSG hopefuls, recently said about him on RMC : “he has a preferential zone which is on the right side of the field rather to finish on his left foot. He has this ability to finalize, to be in the surface. Like Ousmane Dembélé against Liverpool, he must be able to change pace and it is a slider that he must go for. He is capable of going up to 35-36 km/h, he is also interesting when he participates in the game on the right side, when he comes in or goes deep and finds himself in one-on-one or in finishing areas.»
