The market value of Eduardo Camavinga went from 100 to 50 million euros in the space of a few months, a drop of 50% according to the specialized site Transfermarkt. The Real Madrid midfielder is struggling to get back to his best level after a season marked by injuries. Since his return, he has played just 76 minutes in 19 days, a far cry from his former central role. This situation pushes Xabi Alonso, who arrived on the Merengue bench, to think about the best way to revive him in a squad where competition is intensifying.

This drop in value seems logical given his last season, marked by four injuries and more than 35 missed matches. Victim of a muscle tear in April, then a sprained ankle at the start of the season, Camavinga is struggling to continue. Despite everything, Xabi Alonso remains confident: “he has enormous potential, he is dynamic, capable of breaking the lines”he said after the 4-1 victory at Levante. Freshly called up to the French team despite his lack of rhythm, the 22-year-old hopes to take advantage of this international break to regain playing time and finally relaunch his young career.
