On June 8, the French team played their last match of the season with a victory against Germany (0-2), in the match for third place in the League of Nations. A month later, FIFA published its official ranking. No change in the top 5 since the last version last April, and the Blues are still occupying third place, behind Argentina and Spain.

Although beaten by La Roja in the semi-finals of the League of Nations, France remains in the wake of Spain, with 1862.03 points against 1867.09 to Spaniards who still increase their lead. The latter also approach the Argentinian leader (1885.36 points) with a gap filled with more than a third compared to last April.

France also retains a very wide advance on a England which remains fourth but loses 5.88 points to find itself at a total of 1813.32 points. The top 5 not having changed is then Brazil that closes the walk (1777.69 pts). Then comes the first change. Winner of his second Nations League in 2025, with a final success against Spain, Portugal has a good deal and passes in front of the Netherlands in the FIFA classification.

Here is now the Lusitanian Seleçao in sixth row with 1770.53 points on the clock. The Top 10 is then composed of Belgium, Germany and Croatia, these last two nations each earning a place to the detriment of an Italy which falls from ninth to eleventh row.

The French team will meet next September. Didier Deschamps' men will then embark on their qualification campaign for the 2026 World Cup, with a first meeting set for September 5 against Ukraine. The Blues will follow four days later with the reception of Iceland. Two first meetings a priori within their reach.
