A new judicial front opens for French football. AC association !! Anti-corruption filed a complaint against X with the national financial prosecutor's office, notably targeting the president of the Professional Football League (LFP), Vincent Labrune, as well as several leaders of French clubs. Among them: Nasser Al-Khelaïfi (PSG), Jean-Pierre Caillot (Reims), Laurent Nicollin (Montpellier), Loïc Féry (Lorient), Waldemar Kita (Nantes) and Jean-Pierre Rivère (Nice).

The complaint, revealed this Friday, is based on eight particularly heavy counts, of which “Band's scam organized by a person responsible for a public service mission”,, “Illegal taking of interests” or “Violation of sports law”. It could relaunch suspicion around financial management and conflicts of interest in professional football.

Attempts at intimidation?

Faced with these accusations, the LFP quickly spoke in a statement relayed by
Ouest-France Denouncing an attempt to destabilize when she is about to launch her own broadcasting chain. “While French professional football takes a historic stage with the creation of its own chain, some relaunch a destabilization campaign, with rumors and slander”writes the instance.

The league also evokes a maneuver already seen in the past.
“These attacks, relayed without verification, recall the attempts already observed two years ago. The LFP will not be intimidated or divert from its mission. It will not allow any untruth to pass, and reserves the right to act against any distribution of defamatory content. French football deserves better than these methods. »»

It is indeed not the first time that ac !! Anti-corruption targets the institution. In 2023, the association had already filed a complaint against the commercial company of the LFP, suspected of
“Dispute of public funds”. Justice will now have to look at the advanced elements to determine whether a formal investigation should be opened.
