It was the emotional moment of the jubilee of Djibril Cissé, Tuesday evening at Father-Deschamps. At the second break of the match, Messaoud Benterki, the presenter of the L'Equipe channel, took the attacker trained at AJ Auxerre to the center of the field to make him a very nice announcement. The giant stadium screens displayed the building of the training center, called “the pyramid”, and the former protégé of Guy Roux discovered that the place was now going to bear his name.
Djibril Cissé was not at the end of his surprises during this sequence. He discovered a magnificent video clip in which his partner and his children sent him a message for the jubilee. The former Liverpool player, winner of the Champions League in 2005, had three children with the Welsh Jude Littler and his son Cassius, 18, is a player at Notts County FC, in English D4.
The former French international (41 selections, 9 goals from 2002 to 2011) was very touched by the words of his relatives.
Djibril Cissé continues in Ligue 1
Cissé took advantage of this moment to entrust to the public of the Burgundian club that he had appreciated his experience in the staff of Christophe Pélissier as the coach of the attackers and that he will continue the adventure with the first team of AJA next season in Ligue 1, after an 11th place.
At 43, Cissé therefore switches definitively in his second career. He managed to bring together his Auxerrois teammates with whom he won the 2003 French Cup (Fabien Cool, Philippe Mexès, Jean-Alain Boumsong, Lionel Mathis, Olivier Kapo, Khalilou Fadiga), but also ex-teammates of the French team like Thierry Henry or Didier Drogba.
