The UNFP 2025 trophies obviously gave pride of place at PSG, Sunday evening, during a ceremony organized in Paris and broadcast by BeIN Sports. Ousmane Dembélé was crowned best player in Ligue 1, Désiré Doué left with the trophy of best hope and Luis Enrique was crowned as best coach. Each time without surprise.

Only Gianluigi Donnarumma, appointed in the best goalkeepers of the exercise, was preceded in his category by the Lillois Lucas Chevalier. The Italian porter was not present during the ceremony, unlike Geronimo Rulli, the OM player.

The former Spain coach leaves a small anomaly. Since the election of Unai Emery as the best coach of Ligue 1 in 2018, this UNFP trophy has escaped the PSG coach in office each year. Christophe Galtier (twice with LOSC), Bruno Genesio (Stade Rennais), Franck Haise (RC Lens) and Eric Roy last year (with the Brest stadium) were the coaches acclaimed since 2018.

Luis Enrique Absent

“Thank you to all the coaches, to those who voted for me and to those who have not voted for me. I would like to greet everyone, I am not in favor of this kind of ceremony, because as a coach, the most important is the collective ”he launched in a recorded sequence.

Luis Enrique was not present at the Gabriel pavilion, near the avenue des Champs-Élysées. The former Barça coach was back in Catalonia for an event of the Xana Foundation, named after his daughter who died of an illness at the age of 9 in 2019. He thus attended the Clasico between Barça and Real at the Olympic stadium in Montjuïc.
