“Twenty-two days and 496 kilometers, it is the time and the distance that separate the Inter from Munich. »» This Friday morning, the Gazzetta dello Sport Already launched the countdown of the grand final of the Champions League which will oppose Inter at Paris Saint-Germain. And the least we can say is that French and Italians do not want to miss. It is a banality of letting go of this observation since no one wants to lose a C1 final, but Intratis and Parisians have bad memories to hunt.

An end of the championship at stake for inter

On the red and blue side, the objective is to win the Grail for the first time in its history and to erase the lost final in 2020 against Bayern Munich (0-1), in the COVIvin context of the Lisbon Final 8. Among the Milanese, there are already three champions leagues in the trophy window, but the men of Simone Inzaghi also want to erase the memory of a lost finish, that of 2023 against Manchester City (0-1). And to do this, the Gazzetta dello Sport Indicates that nerazzurri already have a plan in mind.

Before the Munich final, Inter has three games on the program: Torino, Lazio and Côme before facing, six days later, Paris Saint-Germain at the Allianz Arena. Secondly in the Serie's ranking, three lengths from Napoli, three days from the term, Lombards can still believe in the title. Unlike PSG, which will only have the Final of the French Cup as the only issue before the Munich meeting, Inter must manage an end of the tense championship. Inevitably, a dilemma arises for Inzaghi: managing the playing time of his flocks so as not to arrive tired on May 31.

A skilful dosage of playing times to think

The daily pink paper reminds us, for example, that the Inter coach had aligned 6 of the 11 holders of the 2023 final against the Torino, a week before the Istanbul final. This time, Inzaghi may have to align many more holders if the meeting against Côme (last day of Serie A) is decisive for the title. To cope with this dilemma, the Italian daily assures that Inzaghi and its staff divided their workforce into three parts. The first brings together the players in front of absolutely being put back on foot. A group of which Benjamin Pavard is a part (ankle injured), Lautaro Martinez (left thigh) and Davide Frattesi. Regarding these last two, prudence is really in order, because the Inter knows that they have forced to play against Barça when in normal times, they would have forfeited if this match had not been such importance.

The second group concerns players who would be very tired. These are Marcus Thuram, Alessandro Bastoni and Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The last two cities should be resting this weekend. Finally, the third group concerns the players not yet “burnt”, but whose playing time should be dosed. The state of shape of the Pistons Federico Dimarco and Denzel Dumfries will be watched and there is a safe bet to be spared. Ditto for the veteran Francesco Acerbi (37 years old), who should not play the matches against the Torino and Côme. Finally, Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella are in a better form than their partners, but there is no question of making them play the three Serie A remaining matches.
