Of Zerbi, his strong choice for Lille

The most important match of the season of Olympique de Marseille to date will be that against Lille this Sunday, at the end of the 32nd day of Ligue 1. With two victories in a row, against Montpellier and against Brest, the Phocaeans repositioned themselves in second place, but prohibited from losing on the lawn of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium, under penalty of being doubled.

During the last home game against Brest (4-1), Roberto de Zerbi reviewed his plans and changed his tactical scheme for the first time in a long time. After having used and abused a 3-4-2-1 in which his players had the most and more difficulty in being creative, the Italian disposed of his group in 4-3-3, with more natural roles and positions for some. The big question before the shock in Lille is obviously to know if this tactical change was a “one shot” or if De Zerbi intends to keep this diagram until the end of the season.

In the North, where Marseille has lost in 5 of its last 6 trips, the change seems to be confirmed. According to information from the Team, it is again in 4-3-3 that OM will start the meeting, with significantly the same elements on the field as against the Bretons.

Rongier or Bennacer?

Scorer in the first leg (1-1), Quentin Merlin should again be on the bench at the start, in favor of Ultisses Garcia. In the midfield, the main unknown concerns the identity of the player who will accompany Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Adrien Rabiot.

At this hour, it is still in balance between Valentin Rongier and Ismaël Bennacer. For the rest, Amine Gouiri will obviously be a holder, after her hat -trick from the past week against Brest.

The probable eleven of OM: Rulli – Murillo, Balerdi, Kondogbia, Garcia – Rongier, Hojbjerg, Rabiot – Greenwood, Gouiri, Luis Henrique.
