Martin Terrier challenges Deschamps: “I think …”

Despite a serious Achilles tendon injury which has been holding him away from the field since January, Martin Terrier does not lose sight of his highest objectives. The former striker of Stade Rennais, today in Bayer Leverkusen, confided in La Voix du Nord on his future ambitions. Author of great performances in the jersey of French hopes, he never tasted a first invitation among the A. A situation which he soon hopes to reverse, convinced that he still has his card to play.

Asked about the tricolor selection, the 27 -year -old striker did not hide his intentions. “I think being here in Leverkusen, gives me even more visibility. But I am not far away today because I must first win my place and that I am efficient. Everything will depend on that but inevitably, when you are almost there, we tell ourselves that it is possible and I am completely convinced that one day it will happen. A clear message addressed to Didier Deschamps, just over a year from the 2026 World Cup.

Terrier is not demoralized by his injury.

Touched at the Achilles tendon in January, two years after having already suffered a break in the crossed ligaments, Martin Terrier continues the hard blows. However, the former Rennais keeps morale : “I have no worries about the fact that it will match for me in Leverkusen”, he says, confident. He hopes to be back to competition in time for the resumption of the 2025-2026 championship in August.

Burrow, an ambition intact despite the obstacles

Transferred to Germany last summer, the former blueberry discovers a new championship and a new environment. He considers his choice as a logical step in his progress: “It is a beautiful test for me, to see if I am able to go higher and also to confront a team with much more competition. The challenge is all the more stimulating as it evolves under the orders of Xabi Alonso, whose calm and charisma he rents.

Martin Terrier knows that time is playing against him but does not give up. Its objective is clear: to return stronger, to prove its value in the Bundesliga, and to ensure that the coach can no longer ignore him. After all, as he says himself, he did not
“No worries”on what awaits him. The message has passed.
