This Wednesday evening, Paris Saint-Germain hosted Manchester City for the seventh day of the Champions League. Luis Enrique had a huge surprise in his starting lineup, leaving Dembélé on the bench. After a fairly long observation ring, the capital club had the first important opportunity of the match. With his thigh, Gvardiol pushed back at the last minute, on his line, a half-volley from Fabian Ruiz (27th). The end of the first period was more complicated for the Rouge et Bleu. Donnarumma even diverted a cross shot from Savinho (39th).

The Rouge et Bleu thought they had opened the score just before the end of this first period. Indeed, Hakimi managed to deceive Ederson with a deflected shot from the right. Except that the pleasure only lasted a few seconds. This goal was finally invalidated by the VAR, due to Nuno Mendes being offside beforehand, for a slight knee injury.

PSG-City, a second act of madness

A few minutes after the start of the second half, Grealish unlocked the Cityzens counter with a nice half-volley from the right (0-1, 50th). In the process, Haaland showered the Parc des Princes, beating the Parisian goalkeeper from the left, at point blank range (0-2, 53rd). Nevertheless, Luis Enrique's men showed character to come back to the score. Coming into play at the break, Dembélé reduced the score with a flat foot after good work from Barcola (1-2, 56th).

On the hour mark, the former Olympique Lyonnais player equalized in favor of PSG, with a cross from the right at ground level (2-2, 60th).

Unwilling to settle for a draw, Luis Enrique's men continued to push. Conversely, those of Pep Guardiola were literally drowned. And the efforts of the reigning French champions were going to be rewarded as João Neves scored with a header, allowing his team to take the lead (3-2, 79th). In the final seconds of added time, Gonçalo Ramos hit the nail on the head (4-2, 90th+6).

Thanks to this crazy victory (4-2), PSG moved up to 22nd place in the general ranking and found themselves virtually qualified for the play-offs. A ticket that will need to be validated in a week, in Stuttgart, during the eighth and final day of the Champions League. As for the Cityzens, now 25th, they are virtually eliminated from the competition.
