Lucas Hernandez had his first start since his return from injury this Sunday, during Paris Saint-Germain’s victory against AS Saint-Étienne (2-1) in Ligue 1. The French defender is gradually regaining his sensations after being away from the field for seven months.
Aligned alongside Lucas Beraldo, the 2018 world champion delivered a satisfactory performance in the eyes of Parisian coach, Luis Enrique. The latter did not fail to praise the former Bavarian in the post-match press conference.
Luis Enrique raves about Hernandez
“He represents a guarantee, a competitive player. He has a smile every day in training. He went through a difficult time and recovered very quickly from a very serious injury. He takes advantage of every minute of play and every opportunity. He was sensational,” judged the 54-year-old tactician.
The Asturian technician also mentioned the gradual return plan put in place for the international tricolor.
“We chose to only play him for 60 minutes, to gradually increase the workload. He is a very high level player, who is always 100%. There is no side match for him. I congratulate him”said Luis Enrique.
