His current contract ends in 2026, and he would be 33 years old at that time. Despite this, Marca claims that Real Madrid are considering offering him a two-year extension, which would take him until 2028.
It is almost certain that Real Madrid will look to sign a new central defender in the next couple of years, given that Rudiger and David Alaba are aging, while Eder Militao’s injury problems are also a cause for concern. For now, Ancelotti wants to stick with what he has.
