After Juventus – Fiorentina, Serie A offered us another great poster, this time, at San Siro. AC Milan (8th), without Rafaël Leão but with Théo Hernandez, hosted AS Roma from Manu Koné (11th). Found on the right side by Youssouf Fofana, Tijjani Reijnders deceived Mile Svilar for the opening score of Rossoneri (16th, 1-0). The response of Giallorossi was not long in coming. With an excellent first-time delivery, Artem Dovbyk found Paulo Dybala who deceived Mike Maignan with a nice right-footed shot for the equalizer (23rd, 1-1). If the two teams returned to the locker room with a parity score, Milan could have benefited from a penalty after a tackle by Niccolo Pisilli on Tijjani Reijnders in the area. But Michael Fabbri, the referee of the match, decided not to award a penalty. After multiple protests against the referee, Paulo Fonseca was shown a red card.

In the second half, Milan was unable to find sufficient resources to score this second goal and even lost a new striker to injury, with Samuel Chukwueze, replaced by Tammy Abraham (62nd). For its part, Claudio Ranieri’s team came very close to winning the three points, but they came up against a very good Maignan. The two teams ultimately ended in a draw (1-1). A parity score which does not suit Milan, which is moving further away from European places. The future of Paulo Fonseca is more compromised than ever. His potential replacement has also already been identified. AS Roma, for its part, climbs one place and moves to 10th position in the Serie A standings.
