Mohamed Salah’s crazy numbers this season continue to impress. This Sunday evening, during Liverpool’s resounding 5-0 victory at West Ham, the Pharaoh shone once again, consolidating his status as a living legend in the Premier League and beyond.
Mohamed Salah: one record after another
With 30 decisive contributions (goals + assists) in just 18 Premier League matches, Salah has shattered all standards. He thus becomes the fastest player to reach this figure in the history of the English league, even ahead of Luis Suárez, who achieved this feat in 19 matches during the 2013-2014 season.
But Salah doesn’t stop there. In 37 matches in all competitions this season, the Egyptian has totaled 20 goals and 17 assists, the best record in Europe. No other player in the big five leagues has exceeded 29 contributions.
A historical regularity
The darling of Anfield continues to write Liverpool history. He became the club’s first player to score 20+ goals in all competitions in eight consecutive seasons. His consistency also allows him to be among the big names in the Premier League: he is now in the top 10 of the best scorers and assists in PL history, joining Frank Lampard and Wayne Rooney.
During the match against the Hammers, Salah once again demonstrated his impact by combining goal and assist. It was the eighth time this season he achieved the feat in a single match, setting a new Premier League record.
While it’s only December, Salah’s performances this season already place him among the best players in the world. With such numbers and impressive consistency, the Egyptian continues to position himself to win the Ballon d’Or and strengthen his legacy in world football.
