PSG: where are the loaned players?

Between June and September 2024, Paris Saint-Germain recorded the departure of 18 players. If some of them left permanently, freely or against a transfer fee (Mbappé, Ugarte, Danilo, etc.), others are still linked to the capital club. This is the case of Xavi Simons, Carlos Soler, Gabriel Moscardo, Nordi Mukiele, Renato Sanches, Juan Bernat, Cher Ndour, Ilyes Housni and Lucas Lavallée, all of whom went on loan to the four corners of Europe. After four months of competition, some players are already experiencing failure. For others, this departure far from the Parisian context is more beneficial than anything else.

Difficult first part of the season for Mukiele and Simons

With 938 minutes played under Luis Enrique last season, Nordi Mukiele was no longer in the odor of sanctity at PSG. Loaned without a purchase option to Bayer Leverkusen at the end of August, the Montreuillois played his first minutes at Hoffenheim on September 14. A week later, he scored a CSC and came off at half-time for his first start against Wolfsburg. Xabi Alonso then did without him for a month. Starting against Stuttgart on November 1, he injured his left thigh. Back three weeks later against Union Berlin, the 27-year-old started against Bayern in the Cup and against Inter in the Champions League. The perfect moment for him to score his first goal with Leverkusen and give the Germans victory (1-0).

Returning to RB Leipzig after a successful first loan, Xavi Simons had a sluggish start to the season. The Dutch international was then injured against Liverpool on October 23 in C1. Verdict: injury to the ligaments of the left ankle. His return is scheduled for January. The second part of the season will be particularly important for the Amsterdam native, targeted by Bayern Munich last summer and who made it known that he did not wish to stay at PSG.

Soler leaving to stay at West Ham?

For Dear Ndourthe adventure in Besiktas is going well. Already 18 matches under his belt, including 10 starts in all competitions (1012 minutes). The Brescia native was on the pitch at Groupama Stadium against Lyon in the Europa League during the Turkish victory (0-1) last October. With Aubagne, Lucas Lavallée can finally play. The 21-year-old goalkeeper, who has not played a single meeting with the Parisian first team, is a starter in the National team. Eight matches played, three of which ended with clean sheets for the native of Armentières, who is on his second loan, after Dunkirk.

If he still hasn’t scored with West Ham, Carlos Soler has the merit of being a starter among Hammers. The 27-year-old midfielder has also started the last six meetings with Julen Lopetegui in the Premier League. According to The ParisianWest Ham has even already made its decision and wants to keep him permanently. Soler’s loan also has a non-obligatory purchase option estimated at 20 million euros. Back in Spain, Juan Bernat plays regularly at Villarreal. The 30-year-old left-back appeared in 12 games under Marcelino, most of them as a substitute.

Decision expected for Moscardo in Reims

If, during his last contract extension in Paris, he had initially extended his lease until 2025, an automatic clause of one additional year would have been activated. Concerning Renato Sanchesthe comeback at Benfica Lisbon turns into a fiasco. The 27-year-old midfielder suffered a new ischio injury after only two games played. After missing five matches and 33 days of competitions, he played three matches before relapsing. He has been on the sidelines ever since. For the moment, it is unlikely that his purchase option for ten million euros will be exercised. Back in France, after a failed experience in Qatar, Ilyes Housni thought he could get back up in Le Havre. This is ultimately not the case, at least for the moment. The young 19-year-old center forward has only played 154 minutes since his arrival last June with the HAC. The accounting situation of Le Havre, currently 17th in Ligue 1, does not help either.

Recruited last January and sent for this season to Reims, Gabriel Moscardo must be patient with him. Injured in the hip during his first weeks in Champagne, the ex-Corinthians player made his return to the Reims group against Auxerre on October 20, taking his place on the bench. His first start took place against Still Mutzig, in the 32nd final of the Coupe de France. A meeting during which he scored his first goal in France (victory, 1-3). Enough to change your destiny in Reims? Not sure. According to The ParisianPSG planned to discuss with the Reims club upon resumption to make a decision regarding the loan of Moscardo. To be continued…
