Since his surprise departure from the France Espoirs team this summer after the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, Thierry Henry has been thinking about his future in football. Despite mixed experiences at club, in Monaco and Montreal, the 1998 world champion does not close any doors, but insists on the importance of a project in line with his vision and his family.
In an interview given to Sky Sportsthe former French striker said: “I have no problem testing myself at club level. It would have to be something fair. People don’t realize how difficult it is for a coach, especially his family, to move around and sometimes find himself fired quickly. I’m open to anything, but it has to make sense to me and my family. »
Thierry Henry “open to everything”
After leading the Bleuets to a silver medal, the iconic ex-Arsenal striker left his post, saying the decision was motivated by “personal reasons”. He currently remains a consultant for CBS Sports, while exploring options for a return to management.
Although his previous club experiences were not marked by great success, Thierry Henry is not closing the door to a new opportunity. However, he also seems comfortable in a coaching role, where the daily management of a squad is less burdensome. With a coaching career still under construction, Thierry Henry’s next project could well be decisive in defining his legacy on the benches.
