It is with a workforce weakened by the schedule and reduced by absences that theAS Monaco will challenge Paris Saint-Germain for a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash, this Wednesday evening, at Louis-II, opening the 16th day of Ligue 1 (kick-off at 9 p.m.).
One question is central on the Monegasque side: will Denis Zakaria be fit? The Swiss international, the hub of this team, is an essential link to ASM. “He resumed with the group, but only part of the trainingexplained Adi Hütter. Together, the medical staff, Denis and I, we will assess the risk of playing this match. Because everyone knows that the January and February calendar is really tough. We will decide on Tuesday whether Denis is part of the group or not.»
Adi Hütter’s puzzle
The presence of the midfielder would therefore constitute a really risky choice with a view to a potential relapse, but his absence remains a real concern. And Zakaria is not the only case Hütter has to deal with. Goalkeeper Majecki is on the flank, as are defender Mawissa and attackers Balogin and Diatta.
The good news, however, concerns Vanderson’s return from suspension. The Brazilian should hold his place in defense alongside Singo, former Parisian Kehrer and Caio Henrique. If Zakaria cannot start, Magassa could replace him with Camara in the middle, but it is Golovin who would hold the rope by moving back into the middle, thus allowing Minamino to play as a false number 9. Finally, Köhn will be lined up in the goals .
The expected line-up for Monaco : Köhn – Vanderson, Singo, Kehrer (c), Caio Henrique – Camara, Golovin – Akliouche, Minamino, Ben Seghir – Embolo.
