Vinicius Junior will not play the last La Liga match of the year with Real Madrid. The Brazilian received a yellow card during Madrid’s draw against Rayo Vallecano (3-3), his fifth this season, and was therefore suspended for the final match of the first leg against Sevilla on December 22. Substitute at kick-off, the Merengue winger was booked just ten minutes after his entry (74th).
Launched on a counter-attack to try to get back in front of the score, the Brazilian was held back by Florian Lejeune who did not receive a yellow card for this anti-playing fault, which caused the Auriverde international (37 caps, 5 goals). Reprimanding the central referee’s decision too virulently, ‘Vini Jr’ therefore received his fifth yellow card in La Liga – synonymous with suspension – his fourth for protest.
