Stuck in an unprecedented crisis with Manchester City, Pep Guardiola has no plans to give up. While the reigning champions of England occupy a modest 5th place in the Premier League, nine points behind leader Liverpool, and are in a worrying 22nd position in the standings of the league phase in the Champions League, synonymous with play-offs, the coach Spanish assures that he will not leave the ship in this situation.
“I would regret leaving Manchester City now more than ever! I wouldn’t be able to sleep, even worse if I think I’m leaving the club in this situation… Impossible”indicated the Mancunian tactician to journalists.
Guardiola discusses his dismissal
With his 18 trophies won with the Skyblues, including six English championship titles (between 2018 and 2024) and a Champions League (2023), Guardiola is nevertheless lucid. If City management decided to sack him, he says he would accept it without flinching.
“Leave now? No chance. If Khaldoon (the president of City, editor’s note) is not happy, he has the right to kick me out.”he confided.
