PSG: the ridiculous price set by Manchester United for Marcus Rashford

For several months now, the level of play displayed by Marcus Rashford has been far from what he had been able to show in the past. The England international, who lost his place in the selection, is struggling to return to his best level and seems to have reached the end of his adventure at Manchester United. In any case, this is what the English press estimated, which announced that the player, no longer truly fulfilled in England, would have to look elsewhere. However, this summer, he decided to stay to get back on track.

But his start to the season is clearly below expectations since he has scored 7 goals and provided 3 assists in 23 matches. And recently, Sky Germany explained that Manchester United wanted to part ways with them permanently. The idea was to save money on his salary (€18.25 million per year) to be able to strengthen himself and start a new cycle with Ruben Amorim. But that’s not all. The player’s behavior and his numerous nighttime outings were also singled out. And this Wednesday, the English press explained that with falling odds on the English market, there were only two credible options left for the 27-year-old striker: Saudi Arabia and Paris Saint-Germain.

United wants around 45 million

The capital club have regularly been linked with the player in recent years. But each time, the price demanded by the Red Devils seemed far too high to consider any offer. But now, the situation has changed. This Thursday morning, the Daily Mail reveals that Manchester United have set the price of their player at around 45 million euros. The English club wants to recover cash as quickly as possible in order to respect the profit and sustainability rules of the English Federation (FA). And the sale of a player trained at the club and under contract until 2028 represents a 100% profit in the PSR balance sheet, explains the English daily.

The idea is therefore to sell off Marcus Rashford to attract clubs more easily. And if the British media explains that it is unlikely to see a club arrive this winter to recruit the English striker, this summer, it will be very different. At this price, taking the gamble of relaunching Marcus Rashford becomes much less risky and even rather interesting. It remains to be seen which club will take the chance as English clubs no longer seem to be really looking into the player. PSG could then benefit…
