Relations between the Collectif Ultras Paris (CUP) and Paris Saint-Germain are not in good shape. Romain Mabille, president of the CUP, spoke of the consequences of the tifo in support of Palestine deployed before PSG-Atlético de Madrid (1-2), on November 6, in the Champions League. The boss of the Parisian supporters group recognized that this gesture had strained relations between the Virage Auteuil ultras and the club management. In response, PSG followed a government recommendation banning tifos until the end of 2024. The Parisian club also limited CUP members’ access to the Parc des Princes outside of match days.

Did it strain relations with the club? Yes of course. It created a bit of a distance. Afterwards, we assume it. We knew it was going to displease. That, in relation to the club, it would put us at odds. And that there are a whole bunch of people who would fall on us. But for us, it’s important to do it. We have a position, we have assumed it. And we were careful. It was on the theme of peace, although it was not meant to divide. It was support for a suffering people. I understand that there are people who do not agree, that this gets people talking. But there was no hatred, no malice and in the matches afterward, we immediately refocused on the red and blue to support PSG. So yes, it strained relations. We knew it, we are big boys and we take responsibility for what we do. We spoke with everyone to explain our approach and say that we wanted things to go back to the way they were before, that we walk together », indicated Mabille, for France Blue Paris.
