Reece James’ repeated injuries could force Chelsea to part ways with their right back, according to English media.

Reece James’ future at Chelsea looks increasingly uncertain. Despite a contract running until June 2028, the English right-back could be granted an exit voucher by his managers. The main reason? His numerous physical problems which have pursued him for several seasons.

This season again, the Blues captain has been sidelined since the start of the year due to a hamstring injury. This is probably why the British press is now talking about a possible departure for James to Spain or Portugal, championships considered more suited to the player trained at Chelsea.

“The idea is that the higher temperatures and slower pace in leagues like La Liga or the Portuguese Primeira Liga could reduce his risk of injury,”
report our English colleagues. They mention in particular Benfica and Barça as potential candidates for the recruitment of the Londoner.

As a reminder, the previous season, James only played 11 matches with Chelsea, including 10 in the Premier League and one in the English League Cup.
