As part of the 4e Ligue 1 matchday, Stade Brestois travels to PSG’s ground on Saturday evening. A match between the reigning French champion and the 3e of the last exercise. A meeting that Eric Roy is waiting for with great impatience and for more than one reason.
The Brest coach hopes to have a moment to himself with the Spanish coach to ask him for some advice in view of the Champions League. Brest is concerned with this prestigious event this year and it plays next Thursday against Sturm Graz at home.
Roy is eager to measure up to PSG
“How many Champions League matches has he played? If I have the opportunity to talk to him at the end of the match, I might ask him for advice. I’m always open to good advice, especially from top coaches.”Roy said in an interview with Le Parisien.
The Brest coach went on to admit that this duel against Paris will be a real test in view of the European Cup.
“Yes, of course: we are playing one of the best teams in this competition. We had already prepared for this with pre-season friendlies against Naples, Juventus, Newcastle, clubs that are used to the top level and Europe. Paris is the starting point for the big climbs that we will have to climb throughout the season.”
Finally, Roy admitted that he was looking forward to hearing the little music of the C1, even if it will not be at the Stade Francis Le Blé but at the Roudourou. “It’s true that this music… we hear it on TV, we experience it from the outside, but the first time it’s played and we’re an actor, it will have a different flavor and dimension. For me, who is a football fanatic and who never misses a Champions League match, it will be special.”
