With just one point collected in two matches, Nice
had an answer to give, this Sunday, in a match within reach against Angers. And Franck Haise’s team did not fail its test by signing a clear and uncontested victory on the pitch of the promoted team (4-1).

A one-sided match in which Gym always led the race. Ndayishimiye quickly unblocked the situation (1-0, 6th), before Boudaoui doubled the stakes in this first act (0-2, 25th). The SCO gave a good illusion on a penalty converted by
Abdelli
to reduce the score (1-2, 67th), but a double from Guessand (1-3, 72nd, 1-4, 85th) allowed the Aiglons to take the lead.

Le Havre and Reims follow suit

Eighth, Nice is just behind Le Havre, who have won their second consecutive match by dominating AJ Auxerre at the Stade Océane (3-1). The Burgundy club had opened the scoring in style with a sublime free-kick from Perrin (0-1, 17th), but they were weighed down by their defensive errors: an own goal from Owusu (1-1, 23rd), a red card received early in the match by Hoever (45th+1) and two new goals conceded after the break on a mistake (Ndiaye 2-1, 52nd), and a penalty conceded by Jubal – converted by Touré (3-1, 90th+8). While AJA remains the only promoted team to have taken points, these two away defeats have brought them back into line.

A trajectory comparable to that of a Stade Rennais still under construction. Imperial against Lyon during the curtain raiser (3-0), the Breton club struggles to confirm, with two consecutive defeats. On the pitch at Reims, Julien Stéphan’s team was unable to impose its law against a Champagne team galvanized by its draw in Marseille (2-2). Ostigard had nevertheless opened the score (0-1, 13th), but Ito (1-1, 41st) and Diakité (2-1, 48th) allowed Reims to turn the situation around. Tenth, the Rémois overtake their opponent of the day by a short head in the standings.
