PSG do not have a traditional pre-season preparation and Luis Enrique suspects it will take his team a while to be ready.

For its first preseason match, Paris Saint-Germain could do no better than a draw (2-2) in Austria, against Sturm Graz, early Wednesday evening. In eight days, the capital club will officially launch its season, by traveling to Le Havre, on the occasion of the advanced match of the first day of Ligue 1.

Luis Enrique is aware of the task that awaits him to get his team operational. “These are the first minutes of a match against an opponent who has already started their championship and we have a lot of players who are playing their first minutes. Tonight there was a bit of everything, good moments, good actions, but it is clear that there is still a long way to go to find the optimal form”declared the Spanish technician on PSG TV after this friendly match.

Luis Enrique could test Willian Pancho

On Saturday, PSG will play their second and final preparation match, against RB Leipzig. “We will have the same objective: to grow physically, to regain competitive habits and to be able to train with the first team players.”warned the former coach of La Roja.

For this match against the German club, Luis Enrique will not be able to count on Lucas Beraldo, who was injured in Austria. On the other hand, Willian Pancho could make his debut with the Red and Blue. Indeed, the 22-year-old Ecuadorian central defender must undergo his medical examination this Thursday in Paris.
