In the space of a few weeks, the Girondins de Bordeaux were administratively relegated from Ligue 2 to National 2.

Although some signs seemed favourable after the verdict of the commercial court hearing earlier this week, the financial watchdog of French football has shown no leniency towards the six-time French champion. It remains to be seen whether the latter will appeal this decision.

According to Olivier Létang, Gérard Lopez is the main person responsible for this catastrophic situation. “I would like someone to take charge of the chain of responsibilities and explain to me how they could have entrusted a club like the Girondins de Bordeaux to this person. For me, it’s crazy (…) And then I said it in the Senate, I am a French taxpayer, not him. And public funds were committed. Someone who is not domiciled for tax purposes… I find it disgusting, irresponsible.”declared the president of LOSC.

The leaders of the club with the scapular (at least what remains of it) have chosen to appoint Erwan Lannuzel as coach according to The Team. The latter, which will replace
Albert Rierawas until now the coach of the Navy and White reserve team.
