Between the failed files and the other standby leads, Paris Saint-Germain is still struggling to really launch its transfer window, marked for the moment by the arrival of Russian goalkeeper Matvey Safonov and the incorporation of young Brazilian winter recruit Gabriel Moscardo. Moreover, there is total calm in terms of arrivals and departures. The Parisian management nevertheless continues to work on several files, notably that of Désiré Doué, as we revealed to you yesterday. But it is another lead that is attracting attention this week: that of Victor Osimhen officially relaunched with Naples after the failure of discussions around his Georgian teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. The Nigerian striker’s agent even flew to Paris to discuss on site with the Parisian leaders. Proof that the file is moving forward and that the capital club is now the priority option for the 25-year-old player.

As reported The Gazette dello Sport Monday evening, PSG has now abandoned the Khvicha Kvaratskhelia track to turn to Victor Osimhen. And the latter understood that PSG would be the best possible destination for him at the moment, while only one club from Saudi Arabia has expressed its interest. He would also find Luis Campos in Paris, the man who brought him to Lille in 2019. The Italian media explained that discussions are underway between PSG and Giovanni Manna, the sporting director of Naples. But that the Parisian club will not exceed €100 million, while Osimhen’s release clause is estimated at €130 million. A price considered excessive, but that the Parisian club could reach by including a player in the transaction and in this sense, three players would have been offered in the balance, the choice between Carlos Soler, Nordi Mukiele and Kang-In Lee, detailed Sky Italy. And 48 hours later, a new twist occurs in this case.

A 9-day ultimatum?

While the first training sessions of the season are taking place separately from the group due to a muscular problem, all the spotlights remain focused on Victor Osimhen. Nevertheless, the negotiations are progressing at a much slower pace than the Napoli management would like. Despite the confirmed interest from Paris Saint-Germain in the Nigerian striker, thus considered the perfect heir to Kylian Mbappé, the Parisians have not gone much further and have not yet sent an official offer to president Aurelio De Laurentiis. This morning, Gianluca Di Marzio of Sky Italy reconfirmed that PSG is more than ever in the race. But according to the indiscretions of Sport Mediasetthe timing will be very short to find an agreement between Paris and Naples since the management of the Campania club would not want to start the second part of the training camp at Castel di Sangro on July 25 with the file still open and has therefore given itself less than ten days to solve the puzzle of this departure which seems more and more inevitable. Moreover, the player would have decided to force things by not showing up for training in the coming days after The Team.

The question lies in the balance of power established between the institutions: which of the two clubs can put pressure on its counterpart. And still according to the Italian media Sport MediasetNapoli would have a secret weapon to accelerate the discussions with Paris since the Saudi sirens are coming back very strongly in the race for Victor Osimhen. The road leading to Saudi Arabia thus remains open with the Al-Ahli club at the top of the list, in which Roberto Firmino, Franck Kessié and Merih Demiral play in particular. The Saudi leaders have not yet managed to conquer the heart of Osimhen but they intend to use their economic power to convince the club and the player. Aurelio De Laurentiis is also eager to pocket the large sum from the sale of the former LOSC striker to thus lock in the arrival of Romelu Lukaku as a worthy successor, one of the promises made to Antonio Conte, new coach of the Partenopei. The final sprint is launched for the signing of the Super Eagles international.
