Eden Hazard experiences a first failure to enter the Kings World Cup.

Eden Hazard, recently retired since October 2023, has started a new challenge: the Kings World Cup. This Sunday, May 26, at the opening of the international seven-a-side football competition, Deptostra FC, the Belgian team led by Hazard and Céline Dept, experienced a first defeat (5-4) against Peluche Caligari, the Mexican team chaired by by Alex and Gabriel Montiel.

An entry setback which already puts Deptostra FC’s back against the wall. The former striker and captain of the Red Devils and his teammates will have to win their second match to hope to continue the adventure.

A rhythm to take

Despite the defeat, Hazard remains optimistic. “Too bad, it’s not easy, he confided. We see that they are used to playing matches like that. It’s good, it’s a great experience. Too bad we lost. We could win, but there is one match left. »

The newly retired also spoke of the difficulties encountered on the ground: “In terms of rules? It’s difficult, I won’t hide it from you. It goes quickly, you play, you go out. I’m going to study this carefully this evening. Physically, it’s okay. Fortunately, it’s twice twenty minutes, not twice forty-five (smile). But that’s okay, we’re getting through it. I don’t know who we’re playing the next match, but if we want to stay, we’re going to have to win so we have to give everything.”
