Finalists of the Gambardella Cup this Saturday on the sidelines of the Coupe de France final, the young Marseillais are being copiously insulted by the Lyon and Parisian supporters.

For the third time in its history, OM is playing a Gambardella Cup final this Saturday. The Marseille U19s, also semi-finalists in the national championship (against PSG next weekend), face for a second title in the competition the AS Nancy-Lorraine U19s, who play at the regional level.

If the final is played on the sidelines of the final match of the Coupe de France – on neutral ground therefore – on the pitch of the Pierre-Mauroy stadium in Villeneuve-d’Ascq, it is nevertheless with a hostile public that the young Olympians must compose since the Lyon and Paris supporters, some of them, were quick to take their places in the stands.

An electric atmosphere

Result, while OM found the fault twice in the first quarter of an hour, by Keyliane Abdallah (6e) and Mathis Clément (14e), Christian Bracconi’s kids have been showered with whistles and insults since kick-off. An electric atmosphere which, however, does not seem to disturb the Marseillais too much. The supporters of OL and PSG, between two insulting songs against the Marseille city, not forgetting to insult each other.
