Javier Tebas attempted to justify why La Liga does not have this technology when he spoke to the media on Wednesday, according to Marca.
Tebas justifies himself
“It’s not a perfect technology, and that’s the first reason. But that’s not all: over the course of a season, phantom goals occur three or four times. The cost of this technology is very high for the use we make of it: you have to invest between 5 and 6 million euros for both categories to use it once, and with doubts. »
Tebas has spoken at length in the past on financial matters in La Liga, and he is keen to avoid league spending as much as possible. It is a very risky tactic to not have goal-line technology, given the importance it could have on the destiny of clubs in the top two divisions of Spanish football.
