A big sports fan, who grew up in the land of rugby, Kendji Girac gave his preferences in terms of football in an interview with RMC Sport last year. And it’s very, very surprising.
Kendji Girac, shot in the chest last Sunday at a reception area for the Traveler community in Biscarrosse, will perhaps rest while watching the end of the football season. Between Ligue 1, the Champions League and La Liga, the 27-year-old singer is a big fan of football, as he confided to RMC Sport a year ago. “I like PSG, I know people at PSG, I love this team, but I also like Marseille. I’m a guy who doesn’t like confrontation. Yes, of course they room me. I am told that we do not have the right to support two teams at the same time, because there is always this Clasico and this sporting fight between them”laughed Kendji, who rubbed shoulders with Kylian Mbappé at Les Enfoirés, whom he describes as “a simple guy, a nice guy, a good guy”.

In this interview, Kendji also recounts having attended Neymar’s birthday when the Brazilian played for PSG. And describe it this way: “Neymar, it’s Neymar. This is a guy who was a champion at the age of 5 I think. He’s in his own world, in his own thing, but he’s not bad. You have to enjoy it too, you have to relax, sometimes let go of everything, have fun and he’s right”.
The interpreter of Color Gitano is hardly a paradox since, although he is of Catalan origin (Catalan and Spanish are his mother tongues), he is a supporter of Real Madrid! A native of Périgueux (Dordogne), where his family settled in the winter, Kendji also played rugby with his school friends, the oval ball being more popular in that part of France.
