In search of a new central defender, Barça is targeting Mika Mármol (22), whom the managers consider to be one of the best central defenders in the championship. According to Sport, the Las Palmas player will be scrutinized this Saturday during the match at Montjuïc by Catalan supporters and recruiters. The young Spaniard is renowned for his excellent ball releases and aerial reading of the game, an aspect he lacks at Barça.

The player is already well known to the club. The defender was trained by Barça and it was Xavi who launched him professionally at the end of the 2021-2022 season against Getafe. After a lack of playing time, he was loaned to FC Andorra (2022-2023), then transferred to Las Palmas (2023-2024) for less than two million euros. The Catalan club preferred at that time to bet on Ronald Araújo (25 years old) and Eric Garcia (23 years old), with less success. To buy him and repatriate him to the continent in Catalonia, Barça should not spend a fortune because the club has retained 50% of the player's rights.
