After three consecutive draws, PSG returned to victory in L1 this Sunday in Montpellier (2-6). Holder, Mbappé scored three goals.

This time, no premature exit or start of the match on the bench. In Montpellier this Sunday at the end of the 26e day of Ligue 1, Mbappé has indeed started the game. Better, he finished it, with three goals to his personal tally and a relatively convincing victory for PSG at the finish (2-6).

If Dembélé had not pierced his eardrum earlier in the day, Luis Enrique's choices could have been completely different. But with their best offensive asset on the field from the start, the Parisians were able to quickly take the initiative in the debates. Vitinha, on a serve from the Blues star and a nice curled shot, opened the festival (0-1, 14e). Before the break goal assured by Mbappé himself (0-2, 22e).

An overwhelming leader

Supported by its public, the MHSC revolted, responding first with Nordin (1-2, 30e), then benefiting from a confused penalty caused by the unfortunate Donnarumma just before the break (2-2, 45e+1). Returning from the locker room, however, Mbappé was quick to kill the suspense, with a marvel of long-range shot sent under the bar (2-3, 50e). Same thing for Lee in the process (2-4, 53e). Mbappé then went for his hat-trick to drive home the point (2-5, 63e) – its 24e goal of the season, already, in Ligue 1.

In the final moments of the match, Nuno Mendes completed the work of the capital club (2-6, 89e). The end of a great evening for PSG, which is now 12 lengths ahead at the top of the elite while the Brest runner-up had to share the points with Lille earlier in the day (1-1). Promised for the title of champion, Paris will go to Marseille at the end of the international break. With only one point ahead in the red zone, Montpellier will try to get back on track on the lawn of Le Havre, a direct competitor.
