AS Monaco failed to steal second place in Brest by drawing with Lorient this Sunday as part of the 26th day of L1 (2-2). Red lantern, Clermont hangs on by beating Le Havre (2-1).

The fight on all levels. This Sunday, the 3 p.m. matches in Ligue 1 produced decisive results in the race for Europe as well as in the fight to stay. The good operation almost went to Monaco, which could take second in the elite if they succeeded in Lorient. A lot of points that the Rocher formation believed to hold thanks to a csc from Mendy (27e) and a goal from Fofana (60e) – when Singo also struck against his side in the first minute. This was without counting Bakayoko’s last-second equalizer for the Merlus (2-2, 90e+5).

Brest held in check by Lille earlier in the day (1-1), ASM nevertheless remains third, one length behind SB29, which also remains four points ahead of Losc, fourth. The Parisian leader being perched at eight points before his trip to Montpellier in the evening. The people of Lorient, 15etake for their part a point of margin compared to Nantes and the barrage chair.

Reims is grabbing

In the first part of the table, also note the victory of Reims over Metz (2-1), on achievements of Diakité (3e) and Ito (79e) when the Garnets have a time replicated by Atta (14e). A result which allows the Champenois to temporarily establish themselves in eighth place and which cuts the momentum of the Messins, revived by two successes recently and thus maintained in 17e position, three lengths from the waterline.

The tension is at its height in the red zone since Clermont, at the same time, was able to get the better of Le Havre (2-1), with goals signed by Cham, twice, including a penalty (12e and 45e+4). Ayew may have tried to sound a revolt (45e+1), the HAC is missing a good opportunity to distance itself from the zone of turbulence, 13e with only two units ahead of the 16e place. Deprived of victory for two months, the Auvergne club for its part can still believe in the feat of maintaining, relegated today six points behind Lorient.
