Paris Saint-Germain is punctuating its week in the best possible way. This Sunday evening at the end of the 26th day of Ligue 1, the capital's players largely tamed Montpellier with a score of 6 goals to 2.

Kylian Mbappé scored a hat-trick, Vitinha, Kang-In Lee and Nuno Mendes also took part in the Parisian offensive festival.

This success comes at the right time for Paris Saint-Germain. The club initially returned to victory in the championship after 3 consecutive draws against Rennes, Monaco and Reims.

Luis Enrique's men also took advantage of the Stade Brestois draw against OGC Nice to increase their lead in the standings. The Parisians are now 12 points ahead of Éric Roy's men.

On the other side, the MHSC, 14th, was cut short and suffered another defeat in Ligue 1.

A PSG inspired but not vigilant

The capital club really wanted to win in this game. The Parisians started this meeting strong. From the start of the match, Vitinha found the fault. The Portuguese midfielder, served by Kylian Mbappé at the entrance to the area, slides a right-footed shot into the small left net of Dimitry Bertaud (1-0, 14th).

After this opening score, the Parisians will not take long to make the break thanks to a goal from Kylian Mbappé following a magnificent collective action in the transition phase. The Frenchman concluded the movement with his left foot on a service from Randal Kolo Muani (2-0, 22nd).

However, Luis Enrique's men slowed down slightly and let the Montpellier players come back into the game who put more aggression into the duels. Arnaud Nordin reduced the score with a header (2-1.30) and Teji Savanier equalized on a penalty (quite contentious) just before the break (2-2.45+1).

Merciless Red and Blue

Upon returning from the locker room, the Parisians kicked into high gear. Kylian Mbappé restores the advantage with a clear shot from the start of the second act (3-2, 49th). A few minutes later, Kang-In Lee imitated his partner and deceived Dimitry Bertaud with a magnificent left-footed shot following a nice one-two with Randal Kolo Muani (4-2, 53rd).

At the hour mark, Kylian Mbappé does it again. Vitinha quickly plays a free kick and launches the Frenchman perfectly into the depth who does not tremble to find the net (5-2, 63rd).

At the end of the match, Vitinha, still in charge, found Nuno Mendes in depth who in turn propelled the leather into the MHSC cage to give the coup de grace to a Montpellier team which could do nothing against the attacks of the capital club.
