Stade Rennais is working behind the scenes for a very important signing for the future of the club.
After a very laborious first part of the season, Stade Rennais has raised the bar to give itself some fresh air and revise its ambitions upwards. A revival that bears the signature of Julien Stéphan. Arriving in November to take over from Bruno Genesio, the French technician successfully returned to the Breton club.
Julien Stéphan had signed a contract which binds him to Stade Rennais until the end of the season, thus taking on a short-term commando mission. But it shouldn’t stop there. As indicated by L’Équipe, Guy Stéphan’s son should commit to Rennes for the long term.
“There will be direction”
This Friday, Julien Stéphan confirmed that discussions had indeed begun with his management for a contract extension. A lease lasting two or three years would have been mentioned, even if nothing has yet been made official by the club.
“We have been discussing many topics together very regularly for three and a half months, this has been one of them in recent days.explained the Stade Rennais coach at a press conference this Friday. He will certainly continue to be part of it next week, and fairly quickly, I imagine, there will be an orientation,” concluded Julien Stéphan.
