Eduard Romeu, the financial vice-president of FC Barcelona, ​​resigns from his position. Joan Laporta accepted his resignation today. Eduard Romeu was responsible for the club’s economic affairs in a complex period. In particular, he had to take care of sponsorship and the thorny question of the equipment supplier. He was also involved in reducing the payroll or Espai Barça. The club announced he was leaving the club this morning in a statement to supporters.

“FC Barcelona announces that Mr. Eduard Romeu, vice-president of its economic sector, has presented his resignation to President Joan Laporta due to the incompatibility of this position with full-time dedication to his professional work. President Laporta accepted the resignation and expresses his gratitude for the work of Mr. Romeu at the head of the Economic Space, which focused on the development of a feasibility plan which was implemented during of this mandate and which rectified the financial situation of the institution. A full explanation will be given publicly soon” communicated the club. Joan Laporta summoned the press this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. to discuss the reasons for his departure.
