While the return of Xavi Simons to Paris Saint-Germain is planned for this summer at the end of his loan to Leipzig, the German club plans to make him its flagship player.
Xavi Simons is currently shining at RB Leipzig, where he is currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain. His return to the French capital is planned for next summer, but the German club does not see it that way, if we are to believe Bild.
The management of Lepzig wishes to place the former Masia player at the heart of its sporting project and considers him an essential element of its workforce. To convince him to stay, the RBL wants to offer him indisputable starting status and the role of metronome of the team.
Two other arguments
Simons would thus be offered number 10, left vacant since the departure of Emil Forsberg in MLS this winter. Qualification for the Champions League next season is also a strong argument that the Rotten Bullen intend to put forward to seduce the Dutch prodigy.
Leipzig are optimistic about their chances of retaining the Amsterdammer, based on the player’s career choices so far. It remains to be seen whether the offer from the Bundesliga resident will be sufficient to counter that which PSG will not fail to offer him, with whom the Batavian is linked until June 2027.
