Last weekend, the season of Mouctar Diakhaby (27 years old) changed. The defender was injured in the knee following a collision with Aurélien Tchouameni during the match between Valencia and Real Madrid. Quickly, some Spanish doctors feared the worst for the former OL player, particularly with regard to his physical level which would no longer be the same as before. But the news is pretty good this Thursday.

Operated in the morning in Lyon for three hours by Dr Bertrand Sonnery-Cottet, Diakhaby was reassured about the condition of his knee. Marca explains that the meniscus and cartilage were relatively little affected. The Iberian media clarifies on this point: “this situation, associated with the absence of involvement of the sciatic nerve and the popliteal artery, gives a better diagnosis to the central defender.” Despite everything, healing times are still estimated at 10-12 months for the player, who will spend a few days in the hospital before returning home. For its part, Valencia will pay him a nice tribute during the next match against Getafe.
