Hervé Renard’s Bleues inherited the group of death during the Euro 2025 qualifying draw which took place this Tuesday.

The French women’s team knows its opponents for the Euro 2025 qualifiers. The draw which took place this Tuesday, at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, reserved a difficult group for the Blues. Indeed, Hervé Renard’s daughters will have to cross swords with England, Sweden and Ireland. Which strongly resembles a death group.

The English are quite simply the reigning European champions. For their part, the Swedes are in the semi-finals of the last World Cup, having notably achieved the feat of eliminating the Americans. Finally, the Irish are tough opponents, never easy to tackle.

Objective: the first two places

To qualify for the Euro in Switzerland, which will take place from July 2 to 27, 2025, Eugénie Le Sommer and her teammates must finish in the top two of their group. In the event of failure, the Tricolores will have to go through play-offs against the 8 best teams in League C. They will begin these playoffs between April 3 and 9, 2024, to conclude them in July if they obtain their ticket directly or in the fall if they have to pass through the dams.

As a reminder, Les Bleues played their first final of an international tournament on February 28 against Spain, in the Nations League. However, they were no match for the reigning world champions, beaten by those stronger than them (2-0).
